(which doesn't happen with a stock driver). It installs and runs well but a few reboots later and I'll blue screen. The best I've seen in terms of performance is FLEM using the original Sony + latest beta Catalyst (AMD Catalyst 13.30 BETA (13.300.0.0 RC3 January 8) ) The auto recognized NON-mobility recommendation from AMD.

I've also tried "stock" drivers such as the recommended download from AMD, 4200 series drivers from Lenovo, HP and Acer. 11-07-2012") but the download link now seems to be dead and I've noticed that he actually didn't recommend them for mobility. I used to use Kevsamiga's Drivers (Sorry, can't post links, title appears to be: "If you still have a legacy card, try these hybrid drivers. I benchmark with the Lost Planet 2 Benchmarking tool. I primarily play at low resolution in dx9 mode and can run things like Oblivion, Skyrim, Arkham City, Injustice Gods Among Us with some tweaking of MaxDeltaTime, shadows, max FPS, etc. I'm using an ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 4250 / 5145 Driver Release Date Version 8.7, on a Sony VPCEE41FX notebook.
I'd appreciate any help you can give with recommending an updated driver, preferably modded, for better performance/less bugs.
OpenGL may have a bit of a comeback with OpenGL Vulkan, however it will possibly be overshadowed by the very similar DirectX 12 (in fact, the two supposedly share some features in that Vulkan is quite literally Mantle 2.0, and DirectX 12 supposedly borrows features from Mantle).(TLDR: What's a good Win 7 64bit modded driver for Mobility Radeon HD 4250?) OpenGL driver only affects OpenGL games (obviously) and there are a lot less OpenGL games than DirectX games. 'Probably should' in the sense that you're modding the driver anyway, so why not?!

I believe the driver files are supportive though, so if a driver mod is made you probably should mix the OpenGL from this one with the other files from 15.8b7. It appears both these drivers are targetting legacy and mobile devices, so no INF support for recent desktop cards. For the most part though, 15.8b7 would be the driver of choice out of the two. So, for the most part, the 15.8b7 driver is newer, although for some reason it has a lower OpenGL version than the 1301 driver. Many of the core files have the same file versions, as AMD drivers do, but are of different build and different file sizes. I had a look at the files compared to the 15.8b7 (14 Sep, driver date 08 Sep) mentioned here:
